Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how easy it is to get comfortable inside the environments that once kept us safe but no longer help us grow.
I’ve done it many times.
There were years (even recently) when I played small. I told myself I was being humble, grounded, grateful but if I’m being honest, I was afraid. I was afraid of being misunderstood, of standing out too much, of being too much.
What I didn’t realize then was that sometimes the very environment that helps you rise can also become the one that quietly keeps you contained.
We adapt.
We accommodate.
And before we know it, we’ve started shrinking to fit the space instead of expanding into our optimal self.
That realization hit me hard one afternoon. On paper, one would say that I had “made it.” But inside, I felt something calling me higher, a whisper that said, this isn’t it… there’s more.
Then my inner voice answered back, “More? Don’t be greedy. What more could you want?”
I had been conditioned to believe that wanting more made me selfish but it doesn’t. Wanting more is part of our divine design. It’s how we honor our Creator: by reaching our greatest potential.
That was my turning point. I decided to expand, not just my business, but my mindset, my capacity, and my courage.
And that decision changed everything.
It taught me that we outgrow environments the way we outgrow old stories. They served their purpose. They shaped us. But we can’t stay there forever. Growth requires movement and space to step into the next version of who we’re becoming. (Here’s a secret: we are always becoming.)
So today, I’m inviting you to start.
Start choosing environments that elevate you.
Start surrounding yourself with people who see your brilliance and remind you of it when you forget.
Start saying yes to what feels terrifying, being uncomfortable isn’t a bad thing (ugh, ok, it’s annoying… but what’s on the other side is amazing).
Yes, your next chapter will require more of you but it will also give you more back. (I’m addicted to the compound effect!)
You were never meant to stay in a comfortable room. (Fear makes that room so attractive, doesn’t it?)
You were meant to lead. To create. To elevate.
And when you elevate, when you give yourself permission to take up space and live fully, you don’t just elevate your own life. You become an example of what’s possible for those around you.
Every time I’ve said yes to expansion, even when it scared me, life has gifted me with more than I could have imagined: more peace, more fulfillment, more love, more freedom, more prosperity. That’s the gift waiting for you on the other side of fear.
The power you’ve been searching for isn’t out there, it’s waiting inside you. Trust it. Lead with it. Expand.
✨ What would shift if you started treating your fear as fuel instead of resistance?
Until next time,
Grace 🤍
